Ethan Craig- Midway Braves |
WOW is all I can say about Ethan Craig's performance in the 2011 Fall Baseball season opener at Midway Park on Tuesday, September 13, 2011. It was clear from his performance tonight that Ethan spent the offseason polishing his skills with Trainer/Dad and enjoying time with his biggest fans. "Something changed deep within his soul after leading his team to victory in both the division and county championships in the spring, his drive, willingness to learn, love for the game and desire t
o be the best has increased 10x", said his Dad in an interview following the season opener.

Not sure what to expect from the opposing team, Coach Castle chose to get the game and his season off to the best possible start by positioning Ethan at the top of the batting order. Castle's decision was spot on as Ethan stepped up to the plate with his trademark shades and textbook style stance and crushed a line drive single between 1st and 2nd base. Ethan's performance at the plate continued up to the very last hit in the game which would have been a homerun to deep center field, if not for the 10 run rule holding him to a single. Ethan finished the season opener batting 1,000 going 3 for 3 with 3 singles, and 3 RBIs.
Ethan's performance at the plate was only matched by his nearly flawless performance playing Pitcher in the field. His glove, arm and feet were all on fire tonight as he played the position perfectly. He single handedly saved 2 runs with his cat-like reflexes, speed and baseball smarts by out-running the opposing player to home-plate and squashing their chances of a comeback victory.
All around great start to the season for #40 Ethan Craig! We are so very proud of you and will always be your biggest fans!!! GO ETHAN!!!!
